Getting started

FolianX is a page made of blocks. Everything else — nesting, linking, sharing — builds on that one idea.

Writing

Start typing. Press Enter for a new block, and / to choose what that block should be: heading, list, checklist, quote, code, table, image, divider and more. Blocks can be dragged to reorder them.

Your work saves itself about a second after you stop typing. There is no save button and nothing to lose.

Organising pages

Every page can contain other pages, as deep as you like. Drag a page in the sidebar to move it under another, or to reorder it. A page with children shows a live Sub-pages index at the bottom, so a folder page keeps itself up to date.

Drag the sidebar's right edge to widen it when page titles get long, and double-click that edge to snap it back.

Linking pages

Type [[ and start typing a page title to link to it. Links follow the page, not its name: rename the target later and the link still works.

At the bottom of each page, Linked pages shows what points here — useful for finding your way back into related notes.

Finding things

Press ⌘K (or Ctrl+K) to search by title from anywhere. Star a page to keep it in Favourites at the top of the sidebar.

Icons and covers

Click the icon beside a page title to pick an emoji, and use Add cover for a header image — a gradient, a texture, or your own upload. Covers can be repositioned by dragging.

Deleting and restoring

Deleting moves a page to the Trash, along with everything nested under it. From there you can restore it, or delete it permanently. Nothing leaves the trash on its own.
