Files & attachments

Attach files to any page — contracts, invoices, images, recordings — and preview most of them without leaving FolianX.

Attaching a file

Open a page and use the Files panel to upload. Files belong to the page you attach them to, which keeps the document beside the notes that explain it.

The Files browser

Go to /files for a two-pane view: your page tree on the left, that page's files and a preview on the right. Right-click a file to open, download, move or delete it.

Previewing

PDFs, images, plain text, audio and video preview in place. Other types — office documents, archives — are download-only, deliberately: a file we cannot safely render inline is safer as a download than as something the browser guesses at.

Moving files

Move a file to another page from the right-click menu. The file moves with its storage location, so links to it keep working.

How files are stored

Attachments are stored in EU-hosted object storage in France, in a private bucket. There are no public links: every download goes through FolianX and checks you are signed in and allowed to see that page. Copying a file's URL and sending it to someone outside your team does not give them access.

What can be uploaded

We accept documents, images, archives, audio and video. Executables and scripts, including HTML and SVG, are refused — a notes app is not a place to distribute runnable files, and refusing them removes an entire class of attack.

Deleting

Deleting a file removes both the record and the stored file. It is immediate and cannot be undone, so export anything you may want later.
