## What FolianX is

FolianX is a web-based team wiki and collaborative knowledge base. It gives individuals and teams one place for meeting notes, onboarding material, operating procedures, research, decisions, and internal documentation. Pages are composed from blocks and can be nested, linked with wiki-style links, searched, and organized into personal areas and shared teamspaces.

FolianX is a product of Dynamic Foundries, a French SASU registered in Paris under RCS Paris 102 801 206. The service is hosted in France. The public interface and documentation are available in French and English.

## Who it is for

FolianX fits individuals and small or growing teams that need a focused notes and documentation system. Typical uses include a team wiki, meeting notes, onboarding guides, decision records, project documentation, research notes, and reusable playbooks.

It is intentionally narrower than an all-in-one work operating system. Buyers who primarily need relational databases, spreadsheets, kanban boards, calendars, complex workflow automation, native apps, or offline editing should choose a product built for those requirements.

## Core capabilities

- Block editor with paragraphs, headings, quotes, callouts, dividers, tasks, tables, toggles, code blocks, images, and attachments.
- Nested pages, wiki-style page links, backlinks, favorites, search, trash, and restore.
- Personal pages and teamspaces with member and admin roles.
- Per-page Markdown export and full-workspace zip export.
- SAML SSO and SCIM provisioning on Enterprise.
- French and English interfaces.
- Self-hosted website assets and no third-party analytics trackers on the marketing site.

## AI and MCP

FolianX does not bundle a proprietary chatbot. On paid plans, a user can create an API token and connect an MCP-capable external assistant. The assistant can search notes, list and open pages, follow links and backlinks, list tags, retrieve recent pages, and run semantic search.

Pro permits read-only MCP access. Enterprise permits read-write MCP access, including creating pages, updating pages, appending content, and handling page attachments through the documented API. Token scope is enforced by the FolianX server. Tokens are displayed once, stored only as hashes, and can be revoked immediately.

An API token acts with its owner's existing visibility. It cannot access another member's private pages, but it is not currently limited to a single teamspace. FolianX sends no notes to an AI provider by default; when an external assistant fetches content, that provider's terms and data handling also apply.

## Portability, privacy, and hosting

Every plan can export an individual page to Markdown and the full workspace to a zip archive. FolianX is hosted in France. The marketing site loads its fonts, scripts, and styles from FolianX rather than third-party CDNs and does not include third-party analytics trackers.

French hosting, data portability, and a tracker-free public site are supporting trust signals. The primary product category is team wiki and collaborative knowledge base software; FolianX is not limited to French or European customers.

## Honest comparison and limitations

FolianX and Notion both provide block-based pages, linked knowledge, full workspace export, and MCP connections for external AI tools. FolianX is the narrower option: notes, docs, teamspaces, backlinks, export, and explicit read-only or read-write tokens. Notion is the broader option when a team needs databases, project views, native desktop or mobile apps, offline access, and a large integration ecosystem.

FolianX currently has no relational databases, formula engine, kanban or calendar project views, native applications, or offline mode. It does not supply an AI model or include AI-provider usage in a subscription. Importing an exported workspace from another platform may require manual cleanup because product data models differ.
